1. Who we are

Straits Advisory Group Pte. Ltd. ("the firm", "we") is a Singapore-registered advisory firm. For the purposes of applicable data-protection law — including the EU and UK GDPR where they apply — the firm is the data controller for information collected through this website. You can reach us at any time via engage@straitsadvisorygroup.com.

2. What we collect

Information you give us. When you submit an inquiry or an advisor application, we receive the fields you complete — typically your name, email address, organization, and message, and for advisor applications your background details. We use this only to respond to you and, where relevant, to evaluate a working relationship.

Technical telemetry. Like most security-conscious operators, we run measurement on this site to keep it reliable and to understand aggregate readership. When you visit, our systems automatically record:

Your IP address and the approximate country/city derived from it (resolved by our hosting platform at the edge);
Device and browser characteristics: browser name and version, rendering engine, operating system, screen and viewport size, device pixel ratio, timezone, language, CPU core count, device memory, touch support, and Do-Not-Track setting;
Technical fingerprints computed in your browser — canvas, WebGL (vendor/renderer), and audio — stored only as irreversible SHA-256 hashes, used to recognize returning devices and to detect automated abuse;
Anonymous identifiers stored in your browser's local storage (a visitor ID and session ID), the pages you view, and how you engage with them (time on page and scroll depth).

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, we do not run ad networks, and we do not sell or rent any information to anyone.

3. Why we collect it

To respond to inquiries and advisor applications (performance of pre-contractual steps at your request);
To secure the site — detecting bots, scraping, and abuse (our legitimate interest);
To understand readership in aggregate — which pages are read, from which regions, so we can improve the publication (our legitimate interest).

4. Where the data lives and who processes it

The site is hosted on Netlify (Netlify, Inc., United States), which processes telemetry and form submissions on our behalf. Email is handled by Zoho Mail (Zoho Corporation, Singapore region). Both act as processors under their own security programs. Because these providers operate internationally, your information may be processed outside your country of residence, including in the United States and Singapore; we rely on the providers' contractual safeguards for such transfers.

5. How long we keep it

Telemetry records are retained for operational review and then deleted or aggregated; inquiry and application correspondence is kept for as long as the underlying conversation or relationship requires, after which it is removed on request or in routine housekeeping.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU/UK GDPR and Singapore's PDPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these, email engage@straitsadvisorygroup.com — we answer every request.

Practical choices: you can clear the anonymous identifiers at any time by clearing this site's local storage in your browser; you can block the telemetry script with a content blocker, and the site will remain fully readable; and if your browser sends Do-Not-Track, we record that preference as part of the telemetry described above.

7. Changes

If we change this notice we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be flagged on this page for a reasonable period.
